Vietnam's Fruit and Vegetable Exports Hit Record $7.12 Billion in 2024, Projected to Exceed $8 Billion in 2025
Vietnam's fresh fruit exports achieved a remarkable milestone in 2024, exceeding $7 billion for the first time. This represents a 27% surge compared to 2023, driven largely by the growing demand for Vietnamese agricultural products in key markets like China and the United States. Durian emerged as a star performer, with exports reaching $3.3 billion, highlighting its popularity in the Chinese market. Dragon fruit also contributed significantly to export earnings, totaling $435 million. This overall success underscores the effectiveness of Vietnam's agricultural strategies, including expanding production of key fruits and securing access to new markets. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development projects continued growth, forecasting exports to reach $8 billion in 2025 and potentially $10 billion by 2027. Future growth is expected to be fueled by increased market access for fruits like passion fruit and the continued expansion of frozen durian exports.
