Urban and High-Tech Agriculture to Lead the Way
Ho Chi Minh City's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) reported that the total agricultural production value in 2024 reached over 19.9 trillion VND. While slightly exceeding the previous year, the sector fell short of its targeted growth rate. To address this, the DARD is focusing on agriculture in vietnam, specifically promoting urban agriculture and the adoption of high-tech agricultural practices. This strategic shift aims to boost production value for farmers and businesses. By leveraging technology like farm management software and data analysis, the city aims to modernize agricultural processes, improve product quality, and increase efficiency. Ho Chi Minh City plans for at least 70% of its agricultural production to utilize high-tech applications by 2030, transitioning from traditional methods to a more sustainable and technologically advanced system. This modernization also includes developing eco-friendly models integrated with tourism and diverse value chains, aligning with the broader national goal of sustainable development.
