Tuyen Quang Agricultural Products Head to the UK
Tuyen Quang province celebrated its first export of OCOP-certified agricultural products to the UK. Products including dried banana, guava tea, papaya flower soaked in honey, black bean tea bags, lemon syrup, and kumquat syrup met the rigorous standards of this demanding market. This achievement follows Tuyen Quang's investment in Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and organic production, enabling the province to introduce over 50 key agricultural products to European markets. Ensuring food safety and meeting quality criteria for packaging and labeling were crucial for export success. Collaborating with R.Y.B Joint Stock Company, the province facilitated market access and product promotion. According to R.Y.B Director Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong, securing food safety certifications is paramount for acceptance by European partners, who are willing to pay premium prices for quality products. This market entry not only increases product value but also enhances brand recognition. For cooperatives like Binh Minh Organic Agricultural Cooperative, this export marks a significant milestone. Established in 2020, the cooperative focuses on cultivating organic products like papaya flower and guava tea, two of the items successfully exported to the UK. This success underscores the importance of farmer commitment to safe and honest production practices.
