The Young Man Who Grows Organic Vegetables in an 'Unconventional' Way
In 2016, Trinh Hung Cong learned Japanese agricultural techniques firsthand as a technical intern. He observed meticulous soil treatment processes for organic vegetables, including heating the soil to eliminate pathogens and fungi. Inspired, Cong returned to Vietnam in 2019 and adapted these techniques to his own organic vegetable farm, utilizing sunlight for soil treatment instead of expensive steam generators. This innovative approach saves him significant costs while effectively eliminating soilborne diseases. Now managing multiple farms, Cong continues to refine his methods, showcasing the potential of sustainable agriculture in Vietnam. He utilizes natural plant protection products derived from herbs like ginger, garlic, and chili, avoiding chemical pesticides entirely. This commitment to organic farming ensures healthy produce and minimizes environmental impact.
