Thailand Streamlines Agricultural Exports to China with New AEO Agreement
Thailand's Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Narumon Pinyosinwat, recently met with China's General Administration of Customs (GACC) to strengthen trade cooperation. China is Thailand's largest export market for agricultural products, especially fresh fruit like durian fruit. The meeting addressed key issues such as market access for Thai agricultural products and streamlining customs procedures. A significant outcome was the framework agreement on "one-stop" cooperation in international trade and a mutual recognition agreement for Authorized Economic Operators (AEO). This AEO agreement allows Thai businesses to utilize domestic laboratories recognized by both countries for quarantine procedures, expediting the export process to China. This agreement marks a significant step in simplifying and accelerating agricultural exports from Thailand to China, benefiting both economies.
