Thailand Leads ASEAN in Dairy Product Exports, Reaching US$582 Million
Thailand continues to lead dairy product exports in the ASEAN region, achieving a remarkable 11.5% growth in 2024, reaching US$582 million. This success is largely attributed to increased demand in key markets such as Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia. The ASEAN Trade in Goods Agreement (ATIGA) eliminates tariffs on Thai dairy products within the region, further boosting exports. Popular products include yogurt, UHT milk, and milk-soy blends. Thailand's strategic location, coupled with efficient logistics and competitive pricing, reinforces its position as a major dairy exporter in Southeast Asia. Furthermore, Thailand benefits from existing free trade agreements, allowing access to major global markets. Continued growth is anticipated as regional consumption of dairy products rises.
