Sweet and Refreshing Organic Cantaloupe in the Hot Lands of Tay Ninh
Located in Tay Ninh province, Ms. Tran Thi Hanh's farm is a model of circular agriculture. Her nearly 100,000-chicken farm provides organic fertilizer for her 22 membrane houses dedicated to growing organic cantaloupe. This closed-loop system allows Ms. Hanh to produce high-quality, fragrant, and sweet melons. The farm's fully automated systems, from feeding to manure collection, enable efficient waste treatment and the creation of microbial fertilizer. Cantaloupe, a short-term, high-yield crop, thrives in the membrane houses, protected from pests and diseases and unpredictable weather. Ms. Hanh's innovative approach includes utilizing solar-powered irrigation, IMO preparations for soil improvement, and bee pollination. This focus on organic farming practices ensures biosafety and reduces reliance on harmful chemicals. Damaged or unconsumed melons are even repurposed for IMO preparations, further minimizing waste. The farm's success is evident in the flourishing cantaloupe garden and the strong market demand for the naturally sweet, organically grown fruit. Partnerships with supermarkets, stores, and e-commerce platforms ensure wide distribution, with growing interest in export opportunities.
