Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has urged Vietnam's agricultural sector to achieve a growth rate of 3.5-4%, aiming for 70 billion USD in agricultural exports by 2025. At a conference held by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Prime Minister commended the sector's contributions in 2024, highlighting its role in exceeding socio-economic targets. He emphasized three key achievements: successfully mitigating the impact of Storm No. 3, navigating market disruptions and natural disasters, and promoting technological advancements in agriculture. While acknowledging these successes, the Prime Minister also pointed out areas needing improvement, such as capitalizing on Vietnam's unique agricultural potential and strengthening branding for key agricultural products like coffee. The Ministry reported record-high agricultural exports of 62.5 billion USD in 2024, a significant increase compared to the previous year. Minister Le Minh Hoan outlined key objectives for 2025, including restructuring the sector, expanding domestic and international markets, and fostering innovation to achieve sustainable growth in agriculture.
