Second Round of Water Intake for Winter-Spring Crop in the Northern Midlands and Delta

The second round of water intake for the winter-spring rice crop will begin at 00:00 on February 8th and end at 24:00 on February 14th, 2025. This seven-day period will see hydropower plants operating at maximum capacity to ensure sufficient water levels for agriculture in Vietnam. The Department of Water Resources directs provincial Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development and irrigation companies to maximize water storage and guide farmers in land preparation and early sowing. Daily reporting of irrigated areas and any challenges encountered is crucial for effective water management during this critical period for agriculture.
