Rubber Prices Today, February 21, 2025: Chinese Market Continues to Rise
Global rubber prices on February 21, 2025, showed mixed trends. Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) prices for RSS3 rubber remained flat, while Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) prices surged. This surge comes as US President Donald Trump announced a 25% tariff on imported cars, escalating trade tensions. The tariff could impact the auto industry, potentially affecting rubber demand for tire production. Meanwhile, decreased supply from major rubber producing regions like Africa, Thailand, and Vietnam, coupled with concerns over potential crop failures due to weather conditions, contributed to market uncertainty. In Vietnam, domestic latex prices remained stable, trading between 434 - 440 VND/TSC. Major Vietnamese rubber companies like Mang Yang, Ba Ria, and Phu Rieng maintained consistent pricing for both raw and processed rubber.
