Rubber Price Today, February 23, 2025: Sharp Decline Globally This Week
Global rubber prices saw a sharp decline this week, while domestic prices in Vietnam remained stable. On February 23, 2025, the Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) listed RSS3 rubber for March 2025 delivery at 376.00 yen/kg and May 2025 delivery at 374.50 yen/kg. The Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) listed March 2025 delivery at 17,725 CNY/ton and May 2025 delivery at 17,825 CNY/ton. Last week witnessed significant drops in both Tokyo and Shanghai, with decreases of 2.2 and 4.5 yen respectively on TOCOM and 220 and 200 CNY respectively on SHFE. Domestically, prices held steady. Mang Yang Company's raw rubber prices ranged from 434 - 438 VND/TSC. Ba Ria Rubber Company listed latex at 409 VND/TSC. Phu Rieng Rubber Company quoted mixed rubber around 400 VND/DRC and latex at 440 VND/TSC. Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG) discussed expanding rubber plantations in Laos with Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, focusing on sustainable agriculture and economic benefits for both countries.
