Rice Prices Today, February 7, 2025: Market Remains Cautious
Domestic rice markets exhibited a cautious trend on February 7, 2025, with farmers maintaining asking prices and limited supply resulting in slow trading. Key regions like Kien Giang, Soc Trang, and Dong Thap reported stagnant transactions for new rice. Prices for various rice types, including IR 50404, Dai Thom 8, and OM varieties, remained largely unchanged. Export rice prices experienced a slight decline, with standard 100% broken rice at 318 USD/ton, 5% broken rice at 404 USD/ton (down 1 USD), and 25% broken rice at 377 USD/ton (down 3 USD). Vietnam's Prime Minister, Pham Minh Chinh, recently met with the FAO Director-General to discuss agricultural cooperation and Vietnam's role in ensuring global food security. While agriculture contributes approximately 11% to Vietnam's GDP, it remains a crucial sector for food security and economic stability.
