Rice Prices Today, February 23, 2025: Slight Fluctuations This Week
Domestic rice prices on February 23, 2025, remained largely unchanged. Trading was slow in many regions despite ample supply. Kien Giang saw farmers seeking higher prices for paddy rice, but traders held back on purchases. An Giang experienced slightly improved prices for new rice with low trading volume. Can Tho and Dong Thap saw a slight upward trend in paddy rice prices as traders resumed buying. Prices for various rice types ranged from 5,000 to 28,000 VND/kg. Export rice prices decreased, with the standard 100% broken grade at 310 USD/ton, the 5% broken grade at 394 USD/ton, and the 25% broken grade at 365 USD/ton. In Thailand, farmers protested falling rice prices, urging the government to increase the purchase price from 6,000 to 10,000 baht/ton.
