Rice Prices See Uptick While Paddy Prices Dip on February 15th, 2025
Domestic rice prices increased slightly on February 15th, 2025, while paddy prices decreased by 100 VND. Regions like Kien Giang and Long An saw active paddy purchasing with stable prices for varieties like IR50404 and Dai Thom 8. An Giang farmers offered ample paddy supply with minor price fluctuations. Can Tho experienced high yields and strong purchasing power. In contrast, Ca Mau had high paddy prices but fewer buyers. Rice prices improved, but trading remained slow due to low incoming quantities. Key areas like Sa Dec and An Cu saw selective purchasing of high-quality rice, with slight price increases for good quality raw rice. Export rice prices remained stagnant at 310 USD/ton for 100% broken rice. Prices for 5% and 25% broken rice were 397 USD/ton and 372 USD/ton, respectively. A seminar in Hau Giang province highlighted a successful rice transplanting model using RVT varieties, yielding nearly 8 tons/ha and generating significant profit for farmers.
