Rice and Paddy Prices Today, February 18, 2025: Slight Increase in Rice, Paddy Remains High
Domestic rice prices on February 18, 2025, saw a slight increase for some varieties, while paddy prices remained high. Trading activity was slow in many regions with sporadic purchases. Kien Giang saw stable paddy prices with limited transactions. Dong Thap had a large supply of winter-spring rice, slightly decreasing fragrant rice prices. Can Tho experienced sporadic trading as harvests began, and fragrant rice prices trended downward. In Ca Mau, high rice prices deterred buyers. Prices for IR 50404 paddy were around 5,200 - 5,400 VND/kg, while Dai Thom 8 remained at 6,500 - 6,700 VND/kg. Various other paddy varieties like OM 5451 and OM 18 traded between 5,800 and 6,700 VND/kg. Processed rice like Summer-Autumn IR 504 raw rice was priced at 7,700 - 7,800 VND/kg, and processed reached 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. Fragrant rice varieties, including Jasmine and Huong Lai, ranged from 18,000 to 22,000 VND/kg. Export rice prices remained stable, with 100% broken rice at 310 USD/ton. Overall, domestic rice prices increased slightly compared to the previous day while Vietnam's export rice market held steady.
