Promoting Green Agriculture in Southeast Asia
The AGRITECHNICA ASIA exhibition will be held in Vietnam in mid-March 2025, spotlighting key agricultural sectors like rice, fruit, and coffee. Over 200 exhibitors from 25 countries and thousands of global experts are expected to attend. The German Agricultural Association (DLG), in partnership with the National Agricultural Extension Center and the Vietnam Agriculture Newspaper, announced the event, themed "Promoting Green Initiatives in Southeast Asia," on February 14, 2025. AGRITECHNICA ASIA Vietnam 2025, modeled after Germany's renowned AGRITECHNICA, aims to showcase agricultural technology and innovation. DLG Market Board Member, Peter Grothues, stated that AGRITECHNICA ASIA provides a platform for solutions tailored to Southeast Asia's agricultural needs. This follows a successful event in Thailand in May 2024. Grothues emphasized the importance of fostering green and smart agriculture in the face of climate change. The exhibition will feature conferences and seminars on topics like green innovation and AI in agriculture. GIZ, a German development organization, highlighted the crucial role of agricultural enterprises and cooperatives in technological transformation. GIZ representative Sonja Esche discussed Vietnam's agricultural challenges and GIZ's commitment to promoting sustainable solutions. The International Rice Research Institute will also contribute to the event, showcasing climate-resistant rice varieties and digital farming tools.
