Producers Market New Batch of 30 Tons of Mango in Huancayo
The Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) reports that 30 tons of fresh mango were successfully marketed directly to consumers in Huancayo, Junín. This initiative, facilitated by MIDAGRI's Agromercado, connected small-scale mango producers from Tongorrape, Motupe (Lambayeque) with consumers, ensuring fair prices and bypassing intermediaries. Over 2,000 boxes of Kent mangoes from the Cooperativa Agrofrutos Orgánicos, representing 78 family farmers, were sold at the Regional Directorate of Agriculture of Junín (DRAJ) premises. This direct sales process was supported by coordinated efforts between regional Agromercado offices and organizations like Senasa, guaranteeing fruit quality. This successful venture underscores the importance of direct marketing channels in strengthening the agricultural sector and providing fresh produce to consumers.
