Persisting with Biosecurity Pig Farming
At Dong Tam Animal Husbandry and Service Cooperative in Hanoi, Director Nguyen Dinh Tuong raises pigs using biosecurity practices. He explained that while traditional methods of feeding pigs uncooked feed and duckweed resulted in flavorful meat, it posed significant food safety risks due to parasite contamination. His farm, now using processed feed and clean water, prioritizes agricultural products and ensures a clean environment for the pigs. This commitment to biosecurity yields high-quality, flavorful pork that is distinct from industrially raised pork. The cooperative's closed production chain, from piglet selection to processing and packaging, ensures consistent quality and has earned them recognition and stable income. They use natural agricultural products like corn and bran, avoiding harmful additives, and adhere to strict water quality standards. This dedication to clean agriculture results in delicious and safe pork products, contributing to community food safety.
