Pepper Price Today, February 14, 2025: Sharp Decline
Global pepper prices are trending upwards in several countries. Indonesian Lampung black pepper increased slightly to 7,258 USD/ton, while Muntok white pepper edged up to 10,019 USD/ton. Malaysian Kuching ASTA black pepper is at 9,000 USD/ton, and ASTA white pepper is at 11,600 USD/ton. Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper is trading at 6,800 USD/ton, a 1.47% increase. Vietnamese black pepper export prices decreased, with the 500 g/l type at 6,500 USD/ton and the 550 g/l type at 6,650 USD/ton. White pepper export prices are at 9,550 USD/ton. Domestically, pepper prices fell sharply. Dak Lak and Dak Nong prices decreased to 160,000 VND/kg. Gia Lai prices dropped to 159,000 VND/kg, a 2,500 VND decrease. Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau, and Binh Phuoc prices also decreased to 159,000 VND/kg. This decline follows a period of continuous increase, with prices reaching a high of 160,000 VND/kg. Improved agricultural practices and storage techniques have contributed to higher quality pepper and better prices for farmers in recent years.
