Pepper Price Today, February 12, 2025: Sharp Increase Approaches Record High
Domestic pepper prices on February 12, 2025, surged in key growing areas across Vietnam. Increases of 3,000 - 4,500 VND/kg pushed prices toward the record high of 165,000 VND/kg. Dak Lak and Dak Nong reached the highest price at 164,000 VND/kg, while Ba Ria - Vung Tau saw the lowest at 161,000 VND/kg. This significant price jump is attributed to high demand from major export markets and limited domestic supply due to reduced acreage and unfavorable weather. Global pepper prices saw slight fluctuations. While Indonesian prices decreased slightly, Brazilian prices increased. Vietnamese export prices remained stable but lower than other producing countries. Experts predict continued domestic price increases in the short term, potentially reaching 165,000 VND/kg this week, driven by strong export demand and limited supply.
