Pepper Exports Continue to Fetch High Prices in 2025
Vietnam's pepper exports reached a record US$1.32 billion in 2024. The first month of 2025 saw export prices surge over 30% compared to mid-2024. White pepper prices are currently 16% higher than December 2024 and 38% higher than mid-2024. This strong performance indicates a positive outlook for pepper exports in 2025. While the exported volume decreased slightly in 2024 compared to 2023, the revenue significantly increased by 45.4%. This success is largely attributed to high export prices, reaching an average of US$5,280/ton in 2024. The United States remains Vietnam's largest pepper export market. The Vietnam Pepper Association (VPA) forecasts continued growth in 2025, encouraging farmers and businesses to focus on quality and sustainable practices to further strengthen Vietnam's position in the global pepper market.
