Organic Pepper Cultivation Fetches 20-30% Higher Market Price
The Binh Tien Organic Pepper Cooperative in Dak Nong, Vietnam, founded in 2017, has seen significant growth in both membership and cultivated area. Focusing on organic farming practices and adhering to VietGAP and Rainforest standards, the cooperative produces high-quality black pepper that has earned 3-star OCOP certification. This commitment to sustainable agriculture results in pepper fetching 20-30% higher market prices than conventionally grown pepper. The cooperative's director, Mr. Dong Xuan Lien, emphasizes that this approach restores soil health, protects the environment, and ensures long-term sustainability. Members like Mr. Le Van Duoc and Ms. Pham Thi Anh attest to the higher profits and health benefits associated with organic pepper farming. Dak Nong pepper, known for its high mineral content due to the region's fertile basalt soil, is gaining recognition in both domestic and international markets.
