Organic Mushroom Cultivation for Delicious, Sweet Quality
The Nha Trang Mushroom Cooperative in Nha Trang City, Vietnam, focuses on organic mushroom cultivation. Executive Director, Mr. Nguyen Huu Ngoc, a food technology engineer, leads the cooperative in prioritizing food safety and meeting market demands through organic practices. The cooperative's meticulous approach involves separate spawn production and mushroom growing facilities to prevent cross-contamination. Their 1,500m2 spawn production facility utilizes modern equipment like conveyor belt systems and automatic sterilizing ovens. The spawn is created from a blend of sawdust from mango, acacia, and rubber wood, combined with corn and rice bran. This mixture is bagged, sterilized, cooled, and then inoculated. The cooperative's commitment to organic farming extends to using disease-free spawn, clean water sources, and avoiding growth stimulants. This dedication results in delicious, sweet mushrooms favored by consumers and sold in wholesale markets, restaurants, and vegetarian eateries throughout Khanh Hoa province.
