Nghi Long's Clean Vegetables Sell Out for Tet
Nghi Long commune in Nghi Loc district has a long-standing tradition of growing vegetables. This provides a consistent income for local households, especially during the busy Tet Lunar New Year period. The commune focuses on agriculture products, utilizing clean growing processes to ensure high-quality fresh fruit and vegetables. With approximately 15 hectares dedicated to vegetables, tubers, and fruits, farmers carefully plan planting schedules based on weather patterns to meet the increased demand for Tet. Popular choices include kohlrabi, cauliflower, and cabbage. Ms. Dang Thi Thao, a local farmer, explains that planting begins in early November, focusing on easy-to-grow vegetables favored by consumers. This year's favorable weather and strong market demand have resulted in a complete sell-out, providing farmers with extra income for the holiday. Another farmer, Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hoa, describes the process as manageable and profitable, with traders purchasing directly from the fields. Mr. Nguyen Tu Ngoc, Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee, confirms the success, attributing it to the farmers' experience and the established reputation of Nghi Long's clean vegetables.
