Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Strengthens Food Safety Measures
Recent discoveries of food safety violations, including the use of banned substances in bean sprout production and borax in processed meat, have prompted the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to strengthen food safety measures. With the Lunar New Year approaching and consumption demand rising, the Ministry has issued directives to ensure food hygiene and safety. Local authorities will collaborate with media outlets to educate the public on food safety regulations and the dangers of banned substances in food production. Interdisciplinary inspection teams will target high-risk agricultural products at various stages, from production facilities to wholesale markets. Serious penalties will be enforced for any detected violations to maintain the safety of fresh fruit and other agricultural products consumed during the holiday period.
