Livestock Export Turnover Reaches Over 533 Million USD in 2024
Despite challenges like market fluctuations and extreme weather, Vietnam's livestock sector saw positive growth in 2024. Pig and poultry populations increased, leading to a 5.4% rise in total live weight production. This success exceeded targets set for 2025, with meat and egg production surpassing expectations. Agricultural exports, specifically livestock products, generated over 533 million USD in revenue, a 6.5% increase. This achievement is attributed to comprehensive policies supporting the industry, including a new decree focused on improving production efficiency. Furthermore, favorable animal feed ingredient prices contributed to the sector's overall profitability. Looking ahead, the industry aims for a 4-5% increase in total production value in 2025. Emphasis will be placed on innovation, disease prevention, and combating smuggling to ensure continued growth and attract investment. The government is committed to supporting businesses and producers through policy adjustments and streamlined procedures.
