Lemon Exports Grow Over 50% in Value
Peruvian lemon exports experienced significant growth in January 2025. A total of 7,322 tons of fresh lemons were shipped, a 43% increase in volume compared to January 2024. This surge resulted in a 53% increase in export value, reaching US$7.98 million. The United States remained the primary destination for these fresh fruit exports, receiving 49% of the total shipments. Chile and the Netherlands also saw substantial increases in their imports of Peruvian lemons, contributing to the overall positive start to the year for this agricultural product.
