Kien Giang Agriculture Achieves Comprehensive Success, Record Rice Production

Kien Giang Province's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Director, Mr. Le Huu Toan, reported substantial achievements and growth potential in the agricultural sector. In 2024, despite challenges, the province surpassed its rice production goals. Total rice cultivation spanned 725,680 hectares, yielding over 4.7 million tons—the highest ever recorded in Kien Giang. This success was driven by proactive leadership and strategic planning, resulting in increased productivity and improved quality. The emphasis on large-scale rice fields and adherence to international standards like SRP, organic, GlobalGAP, and VietGAP facilitated exports to demanding markets including the EU, US, and Japan. This achievement highlights the strength of Vietnam's agriculture sector and its capacity for sustainable growth.
