Hundreds of Chrysanthemum Pots Scorched Overnight, Suspected Poisoning

Bui Van Trong, a farmer in Binh Dinh, Vietnam, lost over 300 pots of Tet chrysanthemums due to a suspected poisoning incident. The plants, ready for sale and with deposits already paid by traders, withered and died overnight after being watered with a fertilizer mixture. Fellow chrysanthemum grower Le Trung Hieu suspected sabotage after a similar incident occurred in his garden using the remaining water from Trong's tank. Local authorities, including the Binh Dinh ward police and An Nhon town police, are investigating the incident and have taken water and fertilizer samples for testing. Trong estimates the loss at around 100 million VND, devastating his income for the Tet holiday. Authorities have pledged to find the culprit if the investigation reveals intentional poisoning.
