Huge Opportunities for Organic, Environmentally Friendly Products
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) recently organized visits to agricultural production models in Vinh Phuc and Hanoi to discuss market demands and trends. Honeco, a leading honey producer, highlighted the potential of Vietnamese honey but stressed the need for collaboration and adherence to strict quality standards for export, especially given increasing global trade regulations. The company has invested in modern processing to produce high-quality honey products infused with fruits like passion fruit, meeting diverse market demands. MARD emphasized that Vietnam's participation in free trade agreements opens doors to high-value markets but requires stringent quality control throughout the agricultural exports process. In Hanoi, Bai Thuong Organic Agriculture Cooperative, supplying organic vegetables to major supermarkets, demonstrated success through coordinated production and adherence to organic farming practices. Despite higher prices, demand remains strong, highlighting consumer preference for fresh fruit and vegetables. However, challenges like climate change and labor shortages necessitate broader support for sustainable organic agriculture.
