Hai Ha Tea: Aromatic and Flavorful Thanks to Organic Farming
Hai Ha district in Quang Ninh province is renowned for its tea production, a key agricultural product for local farmers. For years, tea cultivation has brought economic prosperity to the region. However, challenges arose when stringent international standards regarding pesticide residue were implemented, impacting exports. To overcome this hurdle, local farmers and businesses transitioned to organic farming methods. Companies like Viet Tu Investment, Construction and Trading Co., Ltd. established large-scale organic tea farms, adhering to strict international standards. Similarly, smaller producers like Le Van Thang's Ngoc Thuy production group adopted organic practices, using biological pesticides and fertilizers. This shift not only ensures food safety but also enhances the flavor and aroma of Hai Ha tea. The local government supports these efforts through initiatives like VietGAP certification and the development of high-quality tea varieties like Ngoc Thuy and Huong Bac Son. These combined efforts have revitalized Hai Ha tea, ensuring its place in both domestic and international markets.
