Frutas de Chile is working with Chinese authorities to assess the condition of cherries aboard the Maersk Saltoro, delayed by a breakdown in the Pacific. General Manager Miguel Canala-Echeverría is in China to oversee the process. Of 1,360 containers, 20 have been inspected with the fruit reportedly in poor condition. Laboratory results are pending. No containers have been released to the market yet. Frutas de Chile awaits the Chinese customs decision and will provide updates as they become available.
