Farmers Prosper Through Carbon Credit Sales

Ecological agriculture and circular agriculture are not simply farming methods but a way of life, focused on long-term sustainability. This farming method minimizes synthetic chemicals, focusing on reducing emissions and protecting ecosystems. Successful models like the ecological shrimp and crab farming in Ca Mau province involve over 1,200 households and over 6,300 hectares, certified by international standards. Participants earn income from seafood and forest environmental services, reducing deforestation. This model also promotes carbon absorption and reduces greenhouse gases. In Son La, coffee farmers are using sustainable techniques like planting grass for moisture retention and shade trees, alongside raising livestock for manure. This reduces costs and increases yields significantly. Vietnam's agricultural sector produces millions of tons of by-products annually, presenting a significant opportunity for circular agriculture. While challenges remain in policy and infrastructure, the potential for economic and environmental benefits is substantial.
