Farmers Joyfully Harvest the First 'Golden Season' of the Year
Under the bright spring sunshine, farmers in Bu Dop district are busy harvesting their golden rice fields. Combine harvesters and families work tirelessly to bring in the harvest and prepare the land for the summer-autumn crop. Mr. Nong Van Huong, a farmer in Thien Hung Commune, shares his excitement about the high yield of his Dai Thom 8 rice and the favorable rice price of over 10,000 VND/kg. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, another farmer, also celebrates a profitable harvest despite increased production costs. The state's investment in a new irrigation canal has ensured a stable water source, allowing farmers like Mr. Vo Van Thanh to cultivate multiple crops annually and significantly increase their income. Even laborers benefit, with Mr. Dieu Hien earning a good wage carrying rice. According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the favorable weather and farmers' dedication resulted in a successful harvest across the district's 1,000 hectares of winter-spring rice paddies. Investment in irrigation systems allows for multiple harvests per year, contributing to food security and poverty reduction in the region.
