EU Issues 12 Warnings for Vietnamese Agricultural Exports
Twelve warnings have been issued against Vietnamese food and agricultural exports by the EU in 2025 due to non-compliance with stringent regulations. Common violations include unregistered "novel food" ingredients, mislabeling of allergens like peanuts and eggs, exceeding permitted additive levels, and improper documentation for composite products containing animal-derived ingredients. Many Vietnamese SMEs lack understanding of EU import regulations, particularly concerning novel foods and composite products, leading to product recalls and market withdrawals. The Vietnam SPS Office urges businesses to thoroughly research EU regulations, accurately label products, and ensure compliance with permitted additive levels to maintain market access and the reputation of Vietnamese agricultural products.
