Enjoy Coffee Owner Persists in Organic Coffee Farming with Farmers
Le Van Hoang, Director of Dak Nong Bazan Coffee Co., Ltd. and owner of the Enjoy Coffee chain, is committed to organic coffee farming. In 2012, after graduating with an accounting degree, Hoang returned to Dak Nong and opened a coffee shop. He noticed customers were accustomed to drinking burnt coffee with additives. While pure brewed coffee offered a healthier alternative, it took time for customers to embrace its milder flavor. Hoang's persistence paid off, and the success of his first shop led to the establishment of Dak Nong Bazan Coffee Co., Ltd., with the Enjoy Coffee brand now boasting eight stores nationwide. To ensure high-quality coffee, Hoang transitioned his family's 8-hectare coffee farm to organic farming in 2017 and expanded to 17 hectares. He encourages other farmers to adopt organic practices, offering higher prices for their beans and providing training in organic farming techniques. Although initially challenging, the long-term benefits include improved soil health, higher yields, and a safer environment. One collaborating farmer, Mr. Le Van Hai, confirmed the success of organic farming, highlighting the stable yields and reduced reliance on chemicals. Dak Nong Bazan Coffee Co., Ltd. now collaborates with 30 coffee-growing households, producing around 300 tons of green coffee beans annually. Hoang also invested in a processing and sorting factory to ensure high-quality beans. Enjoy Coffee is available in various locations, online platforms, and is even exported internationally.
