Demand for Durian Gold O Testing Surges

At NHONHO Technology Co., Ltd. in Can Tho City, General Director Dinh Hoang Thien stated that the company's durian Gold O testing laboratory has been accredited since January 2025. The lab can process up to 100 durian samples daily, equivalent to about 20 containers. Businesses involved in durian export can contact the company for Gold O testing. Five whole durian samples are randomly collected per container throughout the packing process. These samples undergo rigorous testing using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to detect Gold O residue, primarily in the peel. Results are available within 5 minutes and electronically relayed to the customer. Compliant results are uploaded to the Plant Protection Department's system for customs clearance verification. Since the implementation of Gold O testing regulations, NHONHO Technology has seen a significant increase in testing demand, especially from Tien Giang province, despite its limited capacity. The company has invested in additional equipment to meet the growing demand during peak durian harvest season.
