Cooperative Connects Thousands of Households to Promote Organic Agriculture
Tho Binh Agricultural and Forestry Cooperative in Lam Binh district, Tuyen Quang province, connects with about 1,000 households to cultivate organic agricultural products. The cooperative focuses on peanuts, with Tho Binh commune boasting the largest peanut growing area in the district, yielding over 2,000 tons annually. Farmers like Ma Cong Vinh practice organic farming, ensuring safe products and brand development. Vinh's 3,000m2 peanut farm yields a profit of around 10 million VND per harvest. The cooperative also supports goat farming, with farmers like Ma Duy Man raising over 100 goats and earning about 60 million VND annually. Tho Binh mountain goats graze freely on Phia Khan mountain, resulting in high-quality meat. The cooperative is working to stabilize purchasing sources and expand farming scale. They have increased goat numbers from 300 to 1,000 in five years, collaborating with 73 households and selling over 10 tons of goat meat yearly. The cooperative's commitment to organic practices has led to four OCOP certified products, including peanut kernels, peanut tubers, fresh goat meat, and peanut oil. Future plans include expanding trade promotion and utilizing e-commerce platforms to reach wider markets.
