Coffee Prices Today, February 18, 2025: Robusta Experiences Another Decline
Global coffee markets presented contrasting trends on February 18, 2025. Robusta prices on the London exchange fell, with March contracts down 0.65% to 5,698 USD/ton and May contracts down 0.8% to 5,680 USD/ton. This decline is attributed to selling pressure from Vietnam and a stronger Brazilian currency. Meanwhile, the New York exchange was closed for a holiday, leaving Arabica prices unchanged. However, limited supply and projections of lower production in Brazil are expected to support Arabica prices. In Vietnam, domestic coffee prices decreased slightly, ranging from 129,300 to 131,000 VND/kg across various provinces. Despite the downward pressure on Robusta, Vietnamese farmers remain reluctant to sell, anticipating future price increases.
