China to Process Domestic Durian in June
Construction of Hainan Youqi Toucan in Sanya City, Hainan Island, is on schedule for a June opening. The factory's equipment is undergoing final installation and testing. Located in the Sanya Yucai High-Tech Agricultural Zone, the facility will process fresh durian into products like mooncakes, ice cream, buns, and cakes. Hainan Youqi, a subsidiary of Hainan Zhongxiang Agricultural Group, aims to become the largest durian producer in Hainan Island, utilizing its 800 hectares of durian orchards. The company's 'Toucan' brand durian, known for its quality and naturally ripened fruit, will supply the factory. This initiative seeks to meet the high demand for durian in China during peak consumption periods in June.
