Binh Loi Yellow Apricot Village Bustling with Spring Colors
The apricot growing area in Binh Chanh District, established in the 2000s, is now a renowned brand. The Binh Chanh District People's Committee recently announced the "Yellow Apricot Flower Growing Village" in Binh Loi Commune, boosting local agriculture and tourism. The annual Binh Loi Yellow Apricot Flower Street contributes to the vibrant spring atmosphere and promotes the district's symbolic yellow apricot blossoms. Artisans and growers gather at Vuon Thom Street to display and sell yellow apricot products alongside other unique agricultural products. Ms. Phan Thi Thanh Cong, President of the Binh Loi Commune Farmers' Association, stated the commune has over 610 hectares of diverse apricot varieties, known for vibrant colors, durability, and numerous petals. This year, Binh Loi Commune displayed 80 yellow apricot trees at Nguyen Hue Flower Street and hosted the Binh Loi Yellow Apricot Flower Street Festival. Growers like Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc of Huu Duc Apricot Garden are supplying thousands of apricot trees, including bonsai and mini apricot, and offering rental services. While prices remain stable, Mr. Duc anticipates high revenue. Online sales channels supplement traditional markets. Mr. Le Huu Thien, Director of Binh Loi Yellow Apricot Flower Cooperative, confirmed high customer order volume. The recognition of this village strengthens the economy and promotes the image of yellow apricot blossoms as a unique tourism product of Binh Chanh District.
