Binh Duong province, despite rapid industrialization, recognizes the vital role of agriculture in its economy and is actively pursuing sustainable practices. Agriculture contributes significantly to the province's GDP and ensures food security. The province is promoting ecological agriculture, organic agriculture, and a circular economy to address challenges like shrinking land and climate change. Binh Duong is transitioning from traditional farming to a more modern agricultural economy by leveraging high technology in over 6,450 hectares of cultivated land, focusing on clean and organic agricultural models that adhere to standards like VietGAP and GlobalGAP. This shift involves minimizing resource use, promoting sustainable practices like water-saving irrigation and waste recycling, and building a circular economy model. Experts and local farmers discussed solutions like utilizing industrial waste for fertilizer and bioenergy, implementing pilot models for wider adoption, and promoting training programs for sustainable farming practices.
