Agrovision Harvests First Commercial Blueberry Crop in Yunnan
Agrovision has successfully harvested its first commercial blueberry crop in Yunnan province, China. The harvest, completed less than a year after partnering with the Longhua Residents Committee, exceeded expectations in both quality and yield. The Meiyili-branded blueberries sold out within 24 hours, highlighting the increasing demand for fresh fruit in China. This local production complements Agrovision's existing imports from Peru and Morocco, signifying a significant step for the company's growth in China. Yunnan's favorable climate allows for optimal blueberry cultivation. Agrovision is committed to meeting the rising demand for fresh blueberries in China and is considering expanding its Yunnan operations. The company's dual-source strategy, utilizing both local production and imports, aims to ensure consistent availability of high-quality blueberries for Chinese consumers. Agrovision's CEO, Steve Magami, emphasized the company's global strategy to provide accessible and nutritious superfruits. Beyond production, Agrovision's presence in Yunnan has created jobs and fostered local agricultural expertise through training programs.
