Agriculture Plays a Crucial Role in Driving Nghe An's Growth
Nghe An's Department of Agriculture and Rural Development reported success in 2024, despite facing challenges like unusual weather patterns and rising input costs. The sector achieved significant growth, exceeding planned targets and contributing substantially to the province's overall economic progress. Key indicators were met or exceeded, with the agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sector's GRDP estimated at 46,696 billion VND, a 4.14% increase. Efforts focused on restructuring crops and livestock, applying high-tech methods, and disease prevention. Rice remains the primary crop, with a shift towards high-quality varieties. Livestock production value increased by 5.39%, contributing significantly to agricultural output. Fisheries also showed positive trends with a focus on high-value seafood and addressing IUU fishing. While acknowledging achievements, Vice Chairman Nguyen Van De highlighted areas needing improvement, such as public investment disbursement and high-tech model adoption. For 2025, the sector aims for stable growth, focusing on agricultural economics, digital agriculture, high technology, and production linkages. Specific goals include a GRDP of 23,084 - 23,195 billion VND and a growth rate of 4.5 - 5.0%. Numerous individuals and organizations received recognition for their contributions to the sector's success.
