Agricultural Exports Achieve Impressive Growth in 2024
Vietnam's agricultural sector experienced unprecedented growth in 2024, with exports totaling a record $62.5 billion, an 18.7% surge compared to the previous year. This impressive performance marks the highest growth rate in two decades and significantly exceeded the government's initial projections. Key agricultural products, including rice, coffee, fruits, vegetables, seafood, and cashew nuts, contributed to this remarkable achievement. Diversification of products, expansion into new markets, and the application of advanced technologies in production have fueled this growth. Notably, coffee exports reached a record $5.48 billion despite an 18.8% decrease in volume, thanks to a significant increase in average export price. Cashew nut exports also saw a substantial rise, reaching $4.48 billion, a 20.2% increase. The success extended beyond these sectors, with wood products, seafood, and fruits and vegetables all exceeding $5 billion in export value. Favorable market conditions, rising global prices for agricultural products, and strategic trade agreements further contributed to this outstanding performance.
